Joint Meeting at the Cabarrus County Fair September 10th

On September 10th from 11:30 to 12:45 at the Cabarrus County Fair

We get the opportunity to have a joint meeting at the Fair opening with our fellow Rotarians from the Southwest, Concord, Kannapolis and Afton Village clubs.

Bring your spouse, significant other, family, children and most definitely a friend.  Don’t keep Rotary to yourself; this is an opportunity to encourage a friend, client or another to experience the awesomeness of Rotary.

Also, bring canned food to help our community food bank.  Cooperative Christian Ministry (CCM), is a great organization that helps feed many people in our community.  Over the past 12 months CCM assisted over 12,500 households (37,305 individuals).  CCM needs our help to stock the shelves.  A can or two will do, but as Rotarians we do more than get by.  Let’s set the bar high.

We get to fellowship with our fellow Rotarians, show our family and friends a glimpse of Rotary and help stock the food shelves at CCM.  After the meeting we can all get our fill of cotton candy, ride the rides and enjoy the Cabarrus County Fair.

Membership Committee looks for “Keepers” at Cabarrus Rotary!

The Membership Committee performed another highly entertaining skit as part of the C.A.R.T. (Cabarrus Area Rotary Thespians) group! Written and directed by our very own Sherry Boyd – “Keepers” had a true North Carolina feel inspired by Mayberry and its colorful characters.

The message to our club Rotarians – recruiting new members is essential to the growth and success or Rotary and the impact we have on our community. But recruiting members with the right “bait” and who embody the spirit of Rotary are the ones worth “Keeping.”

Great job to our Membership Committee for another stellar performance and for energizing our club to recruit new members to “Join Us.”

Rotarian Robin Scharding Selected to be Part of Veterans’ Memorial

Rotarian Robin Sharding received an amazing honor of being one of 4 selected in Cabarrus County to have an artist come into town to make a mold of her hand and then cast it. This was done to be used as part of the NC Veteran’s Memorial in Fayetteville. This memorial represents all 100 counties in NC. It was dedicated on July 4th at the new Veterans park. This honor recognizes her as a “Pillar of Support” to our community Veterans and her hand is meant to be a symbol representing all those in Cabarrus County who support our Veterans.
